Capt. John and Therapy Charters are members of Louisiana Charter Boat Association, CCA and Wildlife and Fisheries RFRI (tagging system). Therapy Charters has donated trips to CCA, Wish to Fish, Mary Payton's Miracle Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, and the State Troopers Association. Capt. John's philanthropic efforts focus on children. His motto is, "Take a kid fishing." He endeavors to donate more of his time and efforts to working with sick children, primarily those who suffer with serious illnesses like cancer or who are afflicted with a handicap.

Captain John advertises on ESPN2 radio, boat shows, and various fishing publications. He has given fishing seminars at the New Orleans Boat Show, the Louisiana Sportsmen’s Show, and at the Bass Pro Shop All-Pro Roundup. Therapy Charters promotes their sponsors through websites, car and boat graphics, on professional fishing shirts as well as t-shirts, visors, hats, and just about anything that can be embroidered or printed on. He promotes his sponsors’ products at fishing seminars through demonstration and testimony.
